Service Canines
& Your Family

The bond between a dog and it's human companion is always a strong one, but there's an extra special place in our hearts for service dogs. At Toronto Service Canines we train service dogs for family members with Autism or visual impairment.

The companionship of a service dog can enhance and encourage independence, boost confidence, and allow it's handler to perform daily activities that they could not otherwise perform.

The tasks and skills of a service dog vary greatly based on the individual needs of the handler, and as such, the training provided is unique to your family member. It is important once we have completed the initial stages of training, that your family member be paired up in training sessions with it's service canine to allow for bonding and learning as a team.

When our trainer is satisfied that both handler and service canine are prepared to graduate training, testing will be performed in the areas of public access, obedience and the task skills. Once passed certification will be provided and registration documentation for your service canine. Requalification is required annually in order to ensure the team is performing as required.
